Sanpper blade replacement

recoil_rob(6)June 16, 2011

About 4 years ago I was given a Snapper 38" riding mower w/ Hydrostatic drive. Has worked well but the time has come for new blades.

What the general consensus about aftermarket blades, best value and where to go?

thanks,

Rob

If you are smart--bite the bullet and get the blade made for the Snapper machine. I'm not sure there are after-market blades for them, But, how much will you save, only to be disappointed in the results!? RJ

The only aftermarket blade I've seen is the Gator which is much more than the OEM Snapper. Is it worth it?

Gators are good hard blades. People generally like them that I install. If you were thinking that the grass could be cut up finer- I'd try them.
