Old Snowblower

douglas_growDecember 21, 2008

Hi, I have an old snowblower, engine is a Briggs & Stratton. Says Snowbird S241.Anybody know how to tell how old it is? Carb screws keep vibrating off. Don't know much about it. Any advice?

Thanks, Doug

19old! 70's my guess. If look at the Briggs engine #s - the first 2 digits of the code (last set of numbers) will be the year. Depending on which screws come loose, blue locktite and maybe some improved fasteners if necessary to help.

The code stamped on the engine is 19 digits long. Is there a code on the frame itself? or just on the engine? it just says Briggs & Stratton Snowbird S241.
Thanks again.
