what is a good cover crop to improve clay soil??
Along the side of my house, I have some very heavy clay soil. I'd like to try to improve it's drainage, and I've heard that a good way to do this is to plant cover crops. So, I was wondering what sort of crop you guys think would be good to plant to improve the structure. Also, do you have any of these seeds??
Also, I'd like to say that there is some creeping charlie there currently, but I'm hoping that the plants will outcompete it and essentially kill it. Also, there is a weed barrier fabric in the area that we are in the process of removing. It really doesn't work well at all, I don't know why anyone uses it.
