New changes coming to the USDA Hardiness Zone Map? This site shows the changes that are forthcoming to the USDA Hardiness Zone Map; perhaps:

Well, it looks like now I am a solid 6, as opposed to a 5b/6a.

It will surely get confusing for while until everyone, including vendors, are all on the same page.

Thanks for posting.

Yeah. Zone 6. I've suspected it all along. Oh, well, I 've begun to try zone 6 plants already. We'll see.

Please note that the changes are not from USDA. That is the National Arbor Day Foundation map. Is is much simplier than what USDA is working. It is only using 15 years of data. The new USDA PLant Hardiness Map, which is due out probably late this year) will be using 30 years of weather data and a much more sophisticated algorithm for drawing the zone lines between the weather reporting station. I wouldn't go racing to make any changes in my garden based solely on the Arbor Day map.
