Murray 20HP hydrostatic too slow

zenlike29June 6, 2013

Hey everyone, just bought a used Murray 20HP 42" cut riding mower. It is super slow, like it is stuck in first gear. I understand the hydrostatic transaxle doesn't actually shift, but that is how it feels. Reverse works fine at the same speed. It will not slow down or speed up. Any thoughts?

Spent hydro or belt, grabby brake or link at the hydro from the input rod loose.
