Thuja standishii x plicata
In Minnesota I have 6 of these 7 or 8 years old 6 or 7 feet tall. The top 2 or 3 feet turned completely brown over the winter. The lower part that was under the snow is the normal spring color.
Will these recover? Is there anything I can/should do to help?

Thank you,

They will survive but get a strange shape since the top living limbs will form one or more new leaders

first you wait to see.. how it reacts.. give it until late june at a min ...

then you decide what to do with it..

MN is NOT z6 ...

i have a very lot of winter browning in my a5 MI near ann arbor garden ... on many different conifers ... of which .. yours are ...

i EXPECT.. most plants to outgrow it ...

but i wont know until they start growing ...

they are stressed .. do NOT feed them ... its a non sequitur ...

what about some pix.. for me to tell you mine are the same damage ...

ps: you had 3 to 4 feet of snow piled up???

pps: are you sure on that name??? ... as i have FIFTY 15 foot tall green giants.. and ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THEM ARE SHOWING ANY DAMAGE ... did you buy green giants.. or not ... and what was your source for these plants.. sometimes bigboxstore is variable on the name of the stock they sell ...

Who said I was in z6? I didn't.

Yes, 3 to 4 feet.
MSP airport recorded 69 inches this season, Mora MN recorded 94.
I live in between those 2 locations. Duluth recorded 125 inches this season.

I bought them at a popular online nursery, they looked about like the pic attached. I will try to get some pics of the current condition tomorrow.

the first reply was from someone in z6 ... and i was suggesting.. that z6 doesnt know what i went thru in z5 MI... nor what you may have experienced in MN ... its something that is important to note.. when using GWeb ...

i will await your current pix ..

and do let us know if they were sold as green giants ??? .. if you know ..
