Betula nigra winter damage

treeskate(6a Hartford CT)April 19, 2012

My Heritage birch (4 trunks) was installed 2001. It has done great, but as you know the Northeast (CT) had a terrible early winter snow blizzard in october. Two of the 4 branches (whole tree is about 40 ft high) are leaning severely. One is now at 45 degrees about 20 ft up and the other one is at 90 degrees. I am really worried that they will snap off as the leaves begin to fill out (just starting now.) I don't want anyone to get hurt - dead branches are still falling in the adjacent wooded area. Can this tree be saved???? Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have access to a camera at this time...I'll just have to see if the coming weekend rain perks it up. thanks for the link about how to post pix.
