What type of tree or shrub is this?

Campt91April 23, 2012

I have tons of these little seedlings and saplings popping up all over my back yard, but I can't for the life of me tell what the are. At first I was thinking Blackhaw, but these have alternate leaves not opposite. I'm pretty sure they're not cottonwood or black cherry either.

Pictures 2 and 3 definitely looks like bradford pear seedlings (Pyrus calleryana).

when you start with the premise 'ton' ... whats left to know.. get rid of them ...

snip at the ground and apply ONE SINGLE DROP OF ROUNDUP to the cut..

i can recommend an applicator if you wish

ken

ps: the only reason to 'know' .. is to go kill momma.. its obviously close to being an invasive ... if not, in fact
