White smoke go out the exhaust. Burn oil smell detected. What are causing this trouble?

Posting the Sears 917.xxxxxx or engine brand, model type/spec could be useful.

Likely the carburetor needle& seat is leaking through and filling the crankcase with gasoline.

SMELL the oil for the presence of gas.
Else, possibly a blown head gasket.

The engine should be a-
Briggs 331877-1234-B1.

They are somewhat susceptible to blow head gaskets, but CHECK the OIL first for the presence of gasoline.
It will be a STRONG smell.

Don't run the engine until this is resolved, since the "thinned out" oil has VERY POOR lubricating abilities.
