I don't know the specific name Susan but that certainly looks like a type of primrose to me. Very pretty.

Yes, a Primrose. Very pretty. Give it some shade and a lot of water. It'll multiply.

It looks like Primula malacoides to me. I used to grow them in CA. Here is a link:

This is definitely a Primula - Primula japonica as opposed to the other primroses. It's featured in my 100 Perennials book and it's the featured plant for May on my calendar. What a beautiful deep shade of red.
