when do oak tree bud begin to bloom?

powiebaby(z5MA)May 7, 2007

I have a couple 7' pin oak saplings that I planted last fall. They had leaves when I planted them. The maples and birch around my house have already begun to bloom. The two oaks seem to have buds on the branches, but no signs of opening yet. Do oaks bloom later than other trees?
