Help! Need damage diagnosis

mxk3(Zone 6 SE MI)May 6, 2012

Hey guys, hope you don't mind me popping in from the Perennials forum...need some help from the tree people.

I noticed this damage on my Ed Wood Japanese Maple a couple of days ago, no clue what's going on. He was fine up until then - leafing out nicely, no damage that I had noticed. This is his third spring, no damage or any problems whatsoever until now. Not sure if it's disease, weather damage or what - ? . Appreciate any help you can offer.

ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5

frost/freeze ...

JM's are not reliable in z5 ... and by your name.. it seems you slipped your z6 micro.. into a z5 frost/freeze ...

happened weeks ago ... just had a little heat in the last few days.. that did in the damaged leaves ..

ignore them ...

did you not have that week of 80's a month ago.. and lots of stuff bolted.. followed by a very cold month of april??? with multiple frost/freezes???? JM's are very tender ... at leaf out ...
