What is this tree??

turnerm3May 12, 2012

I just purchased my first home and am learning to care for the plants in my yard. Most of the shrubs and trees I can identify, so I have learned online how to care for them. I have two trees that I am unsure about. Can you help identify these trees?

#1

It's hard to tell from the photos, but it has little hairs extending from the branches.

#2 looks like a willow of some type to me, perhaps a grafted tree that was never pruned?

i am too lazy to load all 7 of your pix in new browsers... can you get them to load into the post itself... or at least make clickable links ...

the first reminds me of sumac ..

The bark on the second tree says it's a cherry. I'd also guess a cutleaf sumac for number one.

Ken, sorry to make it more difficult. After you replied, I remembered a thread I saw, so after 20 mins of searching I found your previous explanation of posting correctly. Hope I'm doing it the right way this time.

End tree #1

End tree #2

Thanks again.

I agree with calliope. First looks like Tiger Eyes sumac. Second looks like a cherry.
