Can someone identify this tree and also does the tree need to be sprayed ? See also second pic.

Hackberry and hackberry gall. The tree should not be sprayed.

Than you for the response, I trimmed a few lower limbs recently and noticed the lumps on the leaves , thought it might need to be sprayed. So I will not spay it now.

google the gall name...

all gall are superficial .. and cosmetic ...

the do not interfere with the leaf function.. and they fall off when the leaves do ...

i consider them a free show of ma nature ...

looks like you used lopping shears.. i hope you followed up by cutting properly to the trunk.. not leaving stubs ...
