"young" woods

Here are some pictures of the "young woods" section of our backyard. This section was former farmland, and consisted of shoulder-high weeds when we took possession. I had it brush-hogged down to ground level in summer 2001, then let it grow back as I created trails by constant mowing and pruning.

Some of the trees in this section are now over 40 feet tall.

Love it! Wish I would see more of that instead of MASS chopping for the sake of putting in corn and bean feilds. It looks like you have quite a bit of autumn olive, you might want to cut those out and put some Tordon RTU on the stumps. You might wind up losing your woods to that invasive bush.
