Cytospora Canker??

NortherOntario(2a)August 5, 2013

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is Cytospora Canker? Should I cut this tree down so I don't infect other trees nearby?

Thanks

Best to get a professional to diagnose your tree or send a sample to a pathologist to make certain......that way you will know for sure what to do....

Thanks for the link.

There are no professionals in my area that I am aware of, I live in a small town.

If anyone knows where in Ontario I could send a sample that would be appreciated.

I suspect that you are in northern Ontario from your name, so I would suggest that you send a sample to the University of Guelph....they do diagnostics on soils, diseases etc....I would contact them for cost and submitting a sample.....
