double yellow knock out roses

daisygirl-gardnerSeptember 6, 2009

this is my first year with these -- growing well blooming well - but I notice bottom leaves yellowing falling off, leaving cane bare. Cane begins dying from the outer towards the center of the plant. What would be causing this. Watering once a week very well. Any input is really appreciated.

I have two red DKOs and they are prone to chili thrips, BS and should be placed in full sun. The bottom leaves could be caused by water hitting the bottom leaves when you water. I took the bottom leaves off so when watering with hose leaves wouldn't get wet. But although these are supposed to be disease free I would spray for Black spot and chili thrips.....Susan ....only my opionion
