transplant floribunda

Konnie1970September 25, 2012

I have a white floribunda in a pot. I want to transplant it to the ground. Is October to late to do this in zone 5?

I certainly hope that it is not too late as I recently transplanted several roses from pots to the ground, and have three more that I hope to transplant this coming weekend. I am in zone 6b, and figure they should get abou two more months to get settled in.

But again, I am a newbie, and I tend to do crazy things. On the other hand, provided that you are careful not to disturb the root system too much, I don't see -or rather, I don't know (either through lack of knowledge or experience) -- a scientific reason why you cannot do it. Mine are mostly a pain to transplant as they are large plants that are outgrowing their 25 gallon pots.

I would be interested in what the experts have to say on this.
