Hardy hibiscus winter sown

floodthelast(5 N. OH)March 21, 2010

So today I decided to divide my clump of hardy hibiscus plants that I winter sowed hunk o seed style last year. It turns out I have 13 hardy hibiscus that survived the harsh Ohio winter. I had no idea there were that many plants in my little bunch. I just stuck them in a pot to overwinter. I'm glad I pulled them apart today. They all had nice long roots and I hope to share the adults with my Mother and family. I'm really impressed with how well many of my winter sown perennials are doing this spring.

That's awesome that there were so many in the one pot! I've WSown hardy hibiscus successfully before, but last winter I tried, with old seed, and nothing came up. I haven't done any this year yet. I should. I have soooo much space to fill.
