just wondering, is now a good time to WS some foxglove seeds? i really want to grow these, but i've never had any luck.
Technically it's Spring ;)
You should be fine sowing them now. Don't cover the seeds, most types digitalis will germinate in two to two and half weeks at about 65F. If your nights are considerably colder, it could take longer.
I just sowed 3 containers of Foxglove today! Camelot White, Camelot Lavender, and some garden-collected D. purpurea.
Foxglove seeds seems to do okay whether sown in winter or spring. Because the seeds are so tiny I surface-sow, and press into soil, then spritz them with water.
They always germinate abundantly, and grow into nice clumps over the season. I have a harder time getting the plants to survive over the winter - foliage and crowns rot out easily!
