Could these be clethra?

adidas(6/7)May 13, 2013

I think these are clethra? Two of them germinated in fall, lost their leaves and have regrown them this Spring. I wanted to be sure because I think they like dampish conditions and I don't want to put them in a hot, dry spot!

They look more like shrub seedlings to me, especially as they were deciduous. Maybe Dogwoods??

Yes, shrub...but not came up today w/its seed head still on...I think they're buttonbushes (Cephalanthus occidentalis)! What do you think, flora? Could these seedlings be buttonbushes?

Thanks for your input!
