Is there a side of the house you should put your winter seeds on? One side gets more sun than others?
Thank you!

No it's not a dumb question. I put the winter-sown trees, shrubs, perennial and hardy annuals on the east side of the house out next to the shrubbery (which is towards the back yard and that's nice because the neighbors can't see them) and they get morning sun only. They are out in the weather.

The seeds I sow in the Spring, which are the annuals, veggies, daylilies, etc., are sown mostly in cups and flats and go on the south side of the house right next to the foundation. This is one of the warmest spots in the yard and doesn't get much frost in the Spring. Have to watch them more closely there as they will dry out faster.

How about keeping them in my screened-in porch over the winter? There is no direct sun, just some indirect light, and it is open to the weather so it gets down to freezing.

If you keep them inside you would have to water them.Kind of defeats the purpose of WS. You will want them to get sun to warm up the soil when it is time.
