Pot/Leaf Face Castings

| Can anyone offer a suggestion for creating a mold of a face that could be attached to a pot or other object to make it look like the face is coming out of the base object? (i.e. Greenman, ect.)
I would like to be able to place it on a leaf when casting so the face becomes part of the leaf. Has anyone done this and have photos?
