Painting a birdbath

| My husband used a white masonry sealer to paint both of my birdbaths..I would have rather left them the plain gray concrete. We spray painted them with Rustoleum stone texture and they were beautiful..UNTIL IT RAINED and washed it all off. Could the spray paint not be adhering to the masonry sealer? We have gotten some Valspar flat clear sealer for interior/exterior to seal the paint. It rained before we could use it. But I don't know if I want the expense of starting all over with the spray paint. It's very expensive. Can anybody tell me if this will work? |

I have painted concrete but with paint that could soak in. This sounds morelike it would sit on the surface even without the sealer. Too bad it sounds very attractive. I painted a cheap metal lamp that was shaped like a greek column with some granite textured paint and it turned out beautiful. But I really don't know if theres a way to use it outdoors and on concrete. I think you should check the hypertufa forum if you haven't already. There's lots of concrete expertise over there! kathy ps sounds like the kind of thing my dh would do! |
