resin chair slipcovers

I'm trying to find a pattern for slipcovers for those ugly resin chairs I have. They weren't that bad to begin with, but they are several years old, still in decent structural shape, but don't like the way they look so I would like to cover them.

Any suggestions?

Susan

Hi Susan,

I just purchased a pattern this weekend. Kwik Sew # 2132

Hope this helps.

Hi Susan,

Wrong pattern # should be 3132.

Sorry

Here is a different idea. Paint them. Buy acrylic paint from Michael's etc. Then either sponge on several colors or decorate how you want. I took a 1" foam brush and did an expressionistic type painting of my favorite flowers. Hid all the stains and held up to the weather.

I saw an article in a gardening magazine that said to renew or improve the looks of the plastic pots to sponge on varnish. Gives it a shine and deepens the tone of the plastic. I am wondering if it might work for the chairs also.

They also sell the Krylon spray paint at wal mart and other places that is specifically for these type of chairs and things,

I honestly thought about painting and probably will the table but the chairs really need a cover....we're talking really sad in looks, but I think they are pretty sound.
