| I have a porch about 20 x6 with a concrete floor. Does anyone have any experience with Stardek products which are applied professionally? Or, has anyone tried their own decorative painting? |

| I don't know anything about the product you mention and have never done decorative painting on concrete myself but know people who have done it and have seen the results. It is my understanding that you can purchase a sealer that is used as a base coat then use paints specially formulated for painting on cement. You might Google and see what you come up with.I would think doing it yourself would be more cost efficent than having it professionally done if you have the time and "want to" to do it yourself.Personally,I think it would be a fun project. You could use your own design or use stencils.......Lillie |

I'm planning a tree/lake scene in the concrete of my front walk. It will be interesting to see how well it works. It will be about 3 feet by 3 feet. I'm going to lay down the basic topcoat 1/2 inch thick in dark grey/black for the entire small walk. Where I plan the scene I will use sheets of 1/2 thick styrofoam in place of the topcoat. I will then cutout the trees from the foam and fill with green sticky concrete, let it set then cutout the blue lake that is behind the trees, then the yellow sun, and beige foreground. Then clean the surface, seal and hope for the best. If it doesn't work, trowel on another topcoat and try again.:) If it does work it will never wear out, the color layer will be 1/2 inch thick. |
