'rock' speakers?

Posted by grullablue (My Page) on

Has anyone used these? What is the sound quality like? I'm looking to buy some outdoor speakers for my back yard, and because we have a lot of rocks in our landscape (rock walls and things) I thought these rock speakers would fit right in! But some of them seem quite expensive, so I'm wondering what the sound quality is like on them before I go out and buy!

Thanks!
Angie

RE: 'rock' speakers?

We purchased a pair of rock speakers from Costco last spring and I hooked them up to stereo system out in pool area. They were about $75 for the pair. Sound and tone quality was great as well as volume when cranked up. I wouldn't recommend hooking up 100watt system to them, but something like a shelf top unit or c/d player( we use a sony 3/cd , cassette, tuner combo) should work fine. Weathered the summer in direct sunlight and and rain in great shape. Getting ready to hook them up for second season.

Thank you! Nope, I wouldn't want to hook anything fancy up to them....just want some 'tunes! Right now, I have an old stereo system (complete with an 8 track player in it! LOL) in my barn, and if I want to hear music in the yard, I put the speaker in the window and crank it up. But I'd love to have some tunes on the back deck!
