I'm talking about those big glass rocks that you purchase by the pound. One of my neighbors gave me all of hers....she had gotten them in Arkansas. I'm wondering how I go about finding a place locally. What do I look for specifically when searching? Anyone know? TIA!

Find a glass factory. Those chunks are glass they clean from their furnaces.

We have a big glass chunks store here, in Sevierville Tn. I've got a lovely green chunk on a stump in my yard. Next week I will be taking a friend from Texas there, so she can pick out a chunk to take home. I might have to add to my chunky glass collection.
Mine was about 17 lbs, and cost around 30? maybe 35 dollars.
Hope you find what your looking for

I was just there last month. If your coming from I 40 get off at exit 407. thats Hwy 66 as your headed into Sevierville, its on the left almost across from the Smokey Mountain Knife Shop with the bright blue roof. It's a scruffy looking building on the left with loads of glass stacked up. My friend bought a couple of huge glass pieces. They are really nice there, and I love the glass.

There's a place called Bourget Bros. in Santa Monica, CA with a huge supply of bi glass rock chunks. They're not cheap, but they are really cool.
