Focal Point - A Swing

I have made the decision to redo my small Southern California backyard. I am going to take out all the grass and create some paths and additional garden beds. I was thinking about having an arbor in the middle of the garden, with a path leading up to it, as a focal point. However, the more I think about it, the more I think I would like a swing. I am thinking of using 4x4's as supports. I want to use real rope and have a wooden seat. I am really into the rustic look, so I want it to look like it's been there a while. I can't find any information on "free-standing" swings. Has anybody ever done this or have any suggestions??? Thanks!

Here some interesting rustic swings....really expensive for me personally. But if you do an image search for rustic swings, there are a bunch listed. Perhaps search for plans too, have seen a number of sites showing how to build them.

Here is a link that might be useful: Rustic swing

Thanks, for the link, emagineer! Definitely too pricey for me, but it gives me some ideas.

I have been looking simply at "swings". I will add "rustic" to my search.

Thanks, again!
