artisits covering for umbrella-type clothesline??

Hi -
I have a big umbrella-type clothesline in my backyard. It is a bit of an eyesore but I use it quite a bit and saves me $$. When it is closed it is not that big, but is right in the middle of my backyard. I made a cover for it out of a vinyl tablecoth - not very attractive but protects it from the elements. What I was thinking is that I could make some kind of more artistic cover for it - like make it look like a totem pole or something? I do use it about two days a week, so whatever it is would have to be easily removed. I have a little girl who would probably enjoy some tent-like structure around it.
I'm completely open to ideas, so bring them on, no matter how wacky!
Thanks so much!
Amy

You could do a nice totem using a Sonotube designed for concrete. They come in large diameter sizes. If it's too heavy to lift off just split it in two and hinge it back together
Do your totem design using papercrete (paper mache using Portlands cement instead of glue)and then seal it with concrete sealer when dry. It will last for a long long time.
Post a picture when you get started.
This could look very cool.
Or do a huge chess piece.:)

Thanks for the advice! As a matter of fact, I have two of those tubes in my playroom, made up to look like castle towers - they are getting in the way and I was wondering what to do with them. The hinging idea is genius! I'll post a pic when I'm done. Thanks again - Amy
