Have seen them online, and wondered if anyone has had any experience with them? Great concept, eliminating power cord, but wonder how good they actually work?
I will find out in a few days ... I got one off eBay. It took a lot of research, and what I found is: the Solar Illumina is prob. the top-shelf one. It has a 5 x 7ish solar panel, a 6V 45 gallon per hour pump, and a 15' cord connecting them. The nice thing w/ this is the solar panel has rechargeable batteries inside, letting you run the fountain at night. The Illumina also has a light you can turn on at night. The all-in-one, floating disk types aren't very effective, from what I have heard. They need strong sun falling directly on them. They're also pretty big. The panel type like I described (and since ordered) offers more flexibility and power. I'll post back once I've had the chance to try it out~ it's going on my balcony!
This is mine. The sloar panel has knobs on it to adjust the height. It shoots up in 3 second intervals. The bad part is you have to move the panel so that it is directly facing the sun, as the sun moves.
