| There are two main issues you need to consider before getting one of these things. First, the pump. Where is it located in case you need to replace or repair it. They can clog with debris, but are easy to fix if you can easily get to them. If the pump is built into the structure and you have no way of freeing it, look for another model that offers this feature. Second. Water. I've seen some of these things sold that look nice but don't hold enough water. Evaporation occurs especially if you have the thing in the sun, water level drops and the pump will probably burn up if you forget to put in additional water or if it splashes out. I've had fountains and ponds for a few years, and really enjoy them. They are, I discovered long ago, not maintenance free, and you must commit yourself to keeping the thing going if you want it to look nice. SG |
