Rock fountain

I thought I would share some photos of my fountain since it's a little different from what most people have. I prefer something that is a little more natural looking.

I've never posted photos so I don't know if this will work.

Very, very nice Michele. I want one! Actually, I NEED one! Was it hard to make?

RE: Rock fountain

Thanks, I'm not a fan of most of the fountains that are available; but, I love this one.

I didn't make it; but, I know how it was done.
1. Dig hole
2. Line with pond liner
3. Place pump inside 5 gallon paint bucket (this keeps the rocks from crushing the pump)
4. Place pump and bucket in hole
5. Fill hole with rocks
6. Find large rocks and have someone drill hole through them
7. Run the pump hose through the hole in the big rocks
8. Place large rocks on top of smaller ones in the hole
9. Fill with H2O
10. Turn Pump on

The small rocks on the top help to direct the water flow.

The birds love this. The smaller ones can bathe without any risk of falling in and drowning. I try to keep it going all winter so the birds have fresh water. If it looks like a really hard freeze is coming I have to turn it off so the pump doesn't burn up.

E-mail me if you have any questions.
