Painting/Staining Concrete Preformed Paver

Posted by lilygal_2 (My Page) on

Hi! I have purchased 18" octogon shaped pavers for a garden pathway. I want to paint/stain them to create a more natural look. What is the best way to do this? Thanks for your advice!

If you wanted to paint these stepping stones I would use Patio Paint. It is made for outside painting. You can buy this paint in small bottles at most craft stores. You can also combine colours and put it on with a small sponge to give you a mottled and more realistic effect. Also you can buy a paint book to see patterns of different stones to create a faux finish. Happy painting!

I saw alot of different ways to paint or stain concrete in the garden junk, hypertufa forums. You might also do a search which will bring up different idea from various forums. They do have concrete stains now. Good luck

There are many ways to stain concrete and three different types of stains. Do it the right way and your concrete will be a work of art!

The other point to be made is that one should not worry about ruining anything. Just paint over anything you do not like!!!
A sealer for bathroom tile is recommended once you are happy with the results. My paintings (on leaves) have been outside for 5-6 years - no fading.
