Hi, I am planning on making a concrete "sidewalk" using a mold that makes it look like stones. What forum can I ask questions about it on? Can't seem to find one that is appropriate. Thanks, Ruth Ann

RuthAnn: here's a few previous threads on the subject. Looks like Gardening With Stone forum is your best bet.

If you're ever stumped for information, go to the bottom of any opening subject page and fill in the search field. Make sure you click on the Entire Site rather than just This Forum for a more comprehensive search.
I've used the Walkmaker mold with Quickcrete, if you still have questions after reading the threads. Good luck, Dianne

RE: concrete sidewalk

Hi Ruthann,

I made a concrete sidewalk with the mold a couple of years ago. It turned out well, and was fairly easy. My problem thou was, i did not wear safety glasses and got a small piece of the rock in my eye. Big Mistake, always wear safety glasses. That sidewalk cost me a lot of money and eye pain.

I have also used those concrete forms but cut mine so that I only have three large stones molds in the form....thought the cobble stone look was too busy plus was much easier to fill, just cut out the cross pieces. Might be easier to highlight the shape you want on the mold and cut away what you don't need. If doing a long walk I highly urge you to buy two forms, makes it so much faster. Tip: one bag of concrete [80 lbs.]will do one and a half forms cut like the ones I have. The good thing about them is you can stop at any point and pick back up later....been at it for 4 summers and lost count after the 385 bag of concrete.
