Former burglar bars.....

Several years ago I noticed some white burglar bars at a garage sale. I bought one for $10, took it home and spray-painted it gray and also spray-painted the butterfly the same color. Here it is mounted on the garage wall.....

Hi, Ladybug,

What a wonderful way to turn "ugly" into beautiful garden art! That's a very creative idea. Thanks for sharing. And your flowers are lovely, too.

What is the tree form plant in the picture? I agree, your burglar bar trellis is wonderful.

You have quite a beautiful scene there!
Excellent use of junk, I'd say...

Little Dani, do you mean the plant on the tree? If so, that is a staghorn fern. Some of the others are impatiens, holly fern, calla lily, firespike, violets, and calium.

I have one similar to that used as a trellis on my deck for a clematis. Mine came from the inside of a screen door that I found in the trash. See this link:

Very nice use of the bars. The flowers look awesome too. It has rained here for 3 days, so the bright colors really made me smile.
