Choosing Deck/Floor color---help

This fall we want to give our deck a face lift. We are on the Gulf Coast, and "color is in". Our park model is brown and cream, with a large unpainted deck. (The deck is off the Alabama room, which is all alumumumn and windows) The out building is pale light green with hunter green trim. I am thinking of doing the deck in those same shades, (rails pale and top boards Hunter to sort of tie it all together. Question is what color to do the floor and steps? Any ideas?? Thank you. W.B

I'd suggest either use the hunter green, or an even darker shade of the same green as the hunter green, or what about a hunter green undercoat with the lighter green sponge-painted or dry-brushed on top to make a pattern (I'd practice on a board or something first to see if you like the result).

Remember, though... the darker the color the more heat it will absorb and the lighter the color the more light it will reflect. Something to ponder.
