Water fountain from planter

Posted by pe816 WI (My Page) on

I made a water fountain from a resin planter. I want the water to cascade over the edge of the pot, but it just clings to the pot and follows the shape of the pot down to the bottom. Is there anything I can do to make the water cascade instead of cling to the pot? (I have the fountain over a sunken plastic bucket containing the pump and water, topped with decorative rocks)

Glue a small piece of clear plastic over the lip of the pot.
You will not see the clear plastic once the water runs over it.

It is the property of water to follow a curved surface. The plastic will get the water away from the curved lip of the pot.
