Bird safe paint for bird bath

Posted by alanis Z4 IA (My Page) on

I've got a cast iron birdbath and I've tried several different spray paints...but they all end up flaking off.

Anyone tell me what is safe to use for the birds and will last more then a season?

Husband said he needs to sand blast it and then we could repaint it.

thanks

You husband has the right idea.
Sandblast - then the paint will adhere better to the birdbath.
Spray enamel - good quality -
We it is done change the water occasionally and I bet the water will be a better quality than most.
Good luck - Mike
