we have a composite stone Virgin Mary from Agway that we would like to place outside. In the winter, what precautions should we take to protect it from the elements?

RE: winter care for statue

We've either been going to the trouble of moving our statues indoors or wrapping them up with plastic and or tarps to keep them dry. Our main worry is damage due to water freezing and expanding in nooks and crannies of our statues. We also set each on material that drains water well (gravel or in one case a piece of narrowly corrugated metal sheeting).
