Rolled Fencing - how long will it last?

Hi- I'm thinking of using rolled fencing wrapped around something round.
What I want to know is how long with this stuff last
if it is left outdoors all winter?

I'm not sure if I'd use
bamboo
willow
reed
fern

The fencing wouldn't be for support
more to hide what's behind it.

Will it get black and moldy etc...?

I love the natural fencing available, especially the ones with leaves or fern still attached. But in my area the same question you have comes up. Bamboo seems to be the best option due to it's strength, many patio squares are being made out of it.

I have two large willow wreathes hanging outdoors for 4 years and they still look good. Am in snow country.

The neighbors have a bamboo covering running across the fence between our houses on their side. It looks really bad, now very black in most areas. I don't know how long the bamboo has been there, but looked this way when I moved in 2 years ago. Possibly due to the wire weaving which is rusting or bleeding into the bamboo. Maybe the weaving/connection material is something to consider.
