| I'm looking for "jocko" the black lawn jockey holding a lantern. Needs to be a least 28' tall. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? It can be new (if anyone still makes them). I have found some old one but they cost about $1000.00. |

| Hello! They are still made- we sell them. Lazygardens gave an excellent suggestion. You could also try the black memorabilia section of eBay. Mark |

| I heard that back in the day only young black men rode race horses or that all jockeys were black in this country. Now a days it is considered racially insensitive to display one, not sure how that came to be.... |

If you ask me, some people just get offended if they can't find anything to be offended about. It seems to work for them. Actually, the lawn jock is a credit to the black culture/society as it represents freedom and bravery. Offense can only be taken by the ignorant who know nothing of the origin of the lawn ornament. No offense is taken by anyone whenever a lawn ornament appears of a white person. I've enclosed a link that educates on the origin of the lawn jockey. http://www.loudounhistory.org/history/underground-railroad-jockey-statues.htm |
