| And it would need to be separated into single colors. Maybe about 1/4 to 1/2 diameter in size.
Am I asking for the moon?

Try a local stained glass shop. I am talking about the shops where they teach the technique. Here they sell the broken pieces for about $1 per lb. Don't know if they would separate the colors though. Not sure if you could pick and choose. I was inquiring for mosaic(sp) projects. Hope this helps. Millie |

| There's numerous listings on eBay for stained glass scraps & pieces -- go to category Crafts --> Glass Art Supplies, then search both title and description for "mosaic" Pat |

| We have a bar around here that sells craft brewed beer. They come in all kinds of bottle colors. I bet they have a place like that out there. You could ask them to save you some different colored bottles. If that kind of glass would work for you. |

| Looks like you are near Seattle. Try Bedrock Industries. Thet have a web site, but I can't find it at the momnent. They have TONS of broken recycled glass, seperated into colors and sold by the pound. Lots of other interesting stuff too. |

| I must like doing things the hard way. Since all my kitchware is made of ruby red glass...plates, bowls, cups and tumblers etc. it really pains me when I break one. I could not make myself throw the pieces in the trash so I put a plate and vase I broke in a box and stashed it in the garage. Not sure what you plan to do with them...but I got the idea to purchase a small craft rock tumbler and used that to wear down the edges of broken glass. Now I have a nice little pile of "frosted" pieces of glass. I've been using them to make suncatchers and windchimes and wire wraps. I also purchase scrap glass from a local stained glass company :o) ~ Cat |
