This is actually a manufacturer near you, do you know about them?
I have eight of their "Classic bench" and they're fine after 4 years outside.
They're cedar as all their furniture. Mine are stained, but they should
weather ok without stain too. You could simulate varieties of wood with stain?
They're certainly the cheapest I've seen and have all kinds of sales regularly.
