pansies and violas

I just planted pansies and violas in my rock garden and have noticed that all of the blossoms are all facing in one direction. I have even dug a couple up and turned the plant completely around and in a couple of days the blossoms are once again faced as the others. I think that they are facing east. I can't find anything on line as to why they do this. Any answers out there?

You might want to post this question in the main Annuals thread..this is the gallery, which is where pictures of your annuals are posted...more people would see it in the main thread. :)

Could it be that they are facing the sun?
