TonyfromOz,
Thank you for the info. I have been looking for this plant's name in all the flower catalogs I could find on the internet and had no luck finding its name nor a picture of it. Now, with its name, I have been able to find all types of pictures and information about it. Again, thank you very much.

Oh my gosh!!!! Oh my gosh!!!! I am so excited!!!! (doing a happy dance here in the office at work!) I was going to post pics of this one myself (if I can ever download them off my camera and figure out how to post pics on the web!)

I have been looking for this one for over a year! It showed up in one of my planters last year and I must of collected the seeds and thrown them into my lemon tree pot, cause it came back in there this year. It blooms right about this time of year, late summer, and it is next to impossible to catch the flower in bloom! I always catch it when it is about to bloom, after it is done blooming. I recognize it from the seed pods and foliage which are so unusual.
I have only seen the actual flowers about 2 or 3 times and they are so lovely! I was always thought it was some type of poppy and kept trying to search different types of papavers. Now the name makes sense!
Thanks so much for posting!!!!!! I think this ID has made my summer!

I've been cursing that as a weed in my garden for years. Now I must begin to cherish it and then it will go away.
