Here it is. Although it's beautiful, I am disspointed that there isn't a scent. Am I expecting too much or do some just not fragrant?

I am posting over here because I started out on your other thread, thinking to myself "I wonder if she has moonflower or another morning glory?" You surely have moonflower. It is very strongly fragrant. I've gotten seeds from GardenWeb traders, Burpee, ParkSeed, you name it, they are always really strong. And my soil is horrible, rarely ever amended. HHMMMM??? I think they smell like soap too. Nice fragrance. It's number two/three on my list of top favorite fragrances and it's my the number one MUST have annual. I will give you one piece of advice I received over here one day, always give a plant more than one shot, try again next season.

The scent is honestly faint and not "flowery" that's probably why you didn't notice...... personally I prefer lilacs or honeysuckles (noninvasive ones of course ;) :) ) and tuberose....... yuuuuuummmm tuberose..... :)

It's not that fragrant I find the scent highly overrated. I find some people's flower "scents" are a little spoiled. They want their flowers to smell like a modern perfume. (something more they would wear) and less flowery like a flower. I've even heard people say they didn't (too flowery /perfumey) etc. like the scent of tuberose! I'll take a flower with "too" strong a perfume anyday! This seems to be one(moonflower) of those that is overrated because it smells like a Tommy Hilfiger perfume. Many say they like it because it is "clean" . If all I wanted was clean I'd smell soap. But in a flower as scent such as this IS overrated.... especially since the scent is not strong as well. Acidanthera's scent is very similar although it is a little deeper/heavier/richer and slightly more floral. :)
