Zinnia Prince and Princess Mix and Purple Prince

Yesterday I caved and bought two packets of Burpee zinnia seeds. One is Purple Prince and the other is Prince and Princess Mix ("electric mix of bright canary yellow and magenta-purple"). The reason I say caved is because I usually order single colored zinnias from Johnny's or Stokes Seeds and have always been happy. Does anyone have experience with these? I think the electric mix grabbed me because of the snowy gray day. Waiting impatiently for Spring!

RE: Zinnia Prince and Princess Mix and Purple Prince

Pretty pictures in the dead of winter will make the strongest among us cave. You did well for only taking 2. I saw that mix, but had bot the canary yellow & the purpe prince at home in the 'leftovers' bin, so opted for something else instead.

I can't really give you a good review for the Purple Prince because the year I grew it, I was a zinnia newbie, and it didn't perform as well as it could have because I didn't dare cut it. Lesson learned, and I've been cutting ever since, but haven't grown that particular one again yet. Maybe this year...must get out all the Zin seeds and lay them out and play with color groupings to see what I might wanna do this year.
