hunting for narrow-leaf zinnia

I am trying to locate seeds for narrow-leaf zinnia (or called zinnia angustifolia or white star---although they also come in orange and yellow). I grew them for several summers a few years ago, and failed to keep seeds. I have one package from Burpee (2009 Fordhook Collection), which I found somewhere last summer (Maybe Target?). Now I cannot find them listed in any catalogues, and it's been years since I could actually find the plants. They tolerate drought, are profuse bloomers until frost, and don't mind GA heat and humidity. None have ever had any disease. Anyone know where I can locate seeds?

Donna, "Anyone know where I can locate seeds?" Stokes Seeds offer Zinnia angustifolia in separate color white, yellow, and orange. They also have a mixture. Harris Seeds offers the white. Hazzard's Wholesale Seeds also have the Star zinnias in white, yellow, and orange. Although they are a wholesale outfit, they have no minimum order and will sell seeds to you. They have a wide selection of seeds. ZM

I really like those too. They don't seem to mildew like the regular ones do. Unfortunately they are difficult to find in market packs in my area. Some years I see them. Other years no one is selling them. I'd like to try growing them from seed, but my last attempt at starting seeds was a disaster. Hope you find seeds and they do well for you. Totally Confused

Lake Valley Seeds offers a nice mix of Zinnia angustifolia, and Botanical Interests Seeds offers a white form. Kevin : )

Thanks so much for the seed company suggestions. I checked them out, saved them, and will order. I highly recommend this annual to others! Donna

I love this annual, too. My perennial beds are completely flat without the sparkle of the white angustifolia. I usually buy all of my seeds from Park's and they've had this annual every year for many years. Donna, last year you raved about another zinnia but (naturally) I can't recall the hybrid, nor can I find the thread. I believe that the conversation was regarding favorite zinnias, disease tolerance, etc. Do you remember what you might have been talking about? It wasn't the Profusion series, I DO remember that much.

They had them last year at Target. They were from Burpee. Target had lots of Burpee seed that were not in the Burpee catalogue.
