Need to clean up nasturtiums?

| Hello,
where I live, my nasturtiums grow and thrive year round. I'm wondering if there's any clean-up I need to do? I notice as they grow and reseed and grow some more that there is a layer of old, dead plants underneath the new growth. Should I pull it out, or should it be left alone? sorry, most advice I see for nasturtiums is 'leave it alone' but does that apply in all cases?
Thanks very much, |

| many plants create there own mulch under them as they decay ... and in and of itself.. is not really a problem ... its natures way ... but what it can create.. is a place for vermin to start to cause real problems.. whether it is mice, voles or slugs/snails ... go look in there.. and find out whats going on.. and then give us some facts .. we .. you.. have to figure out if the conditions is a net positive .. negative.. or neutral ... but we cant speculate.. w/o knowing what is going on ken |
